The Video Event at Union Square in New York City was scheduled for one hour but it went so well that we stayed over five hours! We did not turn the video off until almost 1:00 a.m. Crowds of people were gathered around the truck nearly the entire night. More than 500 of the people who watched Farm to Fridge received an MFA Vegetarian Starter Kit. In addition to that we handed out well over 3,000 leaflets.
A number of the local activists and I had abundant conversations with people interested in adopting a vegan diet. One girl walked over to me during the film, crying, and said, "I can't eat meat anymore." She had no idea farmed animals endured so much cruelty inside factory farms, hatcheries, and slaughterhouses. I handed her a Vegetarian Starter Kit and she was truly thankful. What an incredible day!
